The site required a design that not only enhanced the feel and credibility of the store but continued to extend The Embroidery Store brand by matching their corporate colors and product packaging theme.
The Embroidery Store converted their store platform to StoreFront 6.0 XE from Microsoft Site Server Commerce Edition. Th conversion reduces overall site operating costs by over 60% and also adds many new features, such as customer specific pricing, electronic gift certificate support, customer account self-maintenance options and more advanced site management.
To meet many specific business requirements, we extensively customized the base StoreFront platform. We implemented a dynamic, database-driven menu system to allow for an unlimited number of product categories and subcategories. We also added the ability for customers to order using an existing credit account with the store. In addition, the site features a dynamic display area for new items, clearance items and sale priced items.
We completed the project in approximately three months and the site was launched during the first week of July 2003. The Embroidery Store saw a significant increase in new customers during the first month after the site launch and many existing customers have complimented the company on the improved usability and features of the site.
