Omega Plastics is one of the country's most innovative plastics manufacturing and prototyping companies. They've built their reputation on rapid turnaround without compromising quality. In 2004, Omega came to us seeking a way to offer customers the ability to deliver RFQ's more quickly and easily. During this engagement, Omega also wanted to modernize their website appearance.
Prior to our solution, Omega's customers would submit RFQ's using various methods: fax, email and mail. Many RFQ's also included electronic files, which meant that if an RFQ was faxed, then the files had to be sent via email or burned to CD and mailed. If multiple Omega engineers needed to view the RFQ, then Omega had to make copies and distribute them. These extra steps could add a day or more to the estimating process and in an industry where speed is critical, lost time is lost profit.
A web-based RFQ system was the answer. Customers can now visit the Omega website to submit their RFQ's, including file attachments. The RFQ is saved to a secure database, then the team engineers receive e-mail notification that a new RFQ is ready for review. All engineers can access the data simultaneously, eliminating the need to copy and distribute the RFQ materials.
The new RFQ system is just one component of a completely redesigned site. Earlier in the year, Omega redesigned their brochures and business cards. The new marketing materials were innovative and stylish -- their website was not.
We redesigned their website to match the style of their print materials. To help customers quickly locate the right sales representative, an interactive map quickly connects them to the rep for their territory. To help Omega track the marketing effectiveness of their site, all incoming inquiries are logged and stored in a secure database.
