InetSolution Web Development Services
Working closely with SPJ we molded a design to their specifications. The result is a site that is clean and refined.
SPJ felt that their existing site was overwhelming and cluttered. As we redesigned we kept this in mind, allowing users to get to major parts of the site through only five main menu items. We also create a large space for site updates, as well as listings for the Quill, their online magazine, Press Notes, and News updates.
SPJ needed to reduce the cost and effort required to maintain membership data by providing each member with the ability to securely update his or her own account information. By integrating SPJ's on-line membership database with its off-line counterpart, we successfully eliminated the need to maintain two membership databases. Members also have complete control over their accounts, and can also renew memberships on-line.
The Quill Online, the online edition of their print magazine, is a major feature on the site. The InetActive controlled back end allows SPJ to input their articles directly into the database and be immediately available to members. The past months articles are automatically archived and given members-only access.
In addition to Quill archives, members have been given access to other features such as changing their information, searching for other members, obtaining membership rosters, and discounted services, among other site personalization features.
A site wide search was implemented that not only searched the database, but static pages indexed by an InetActive component. Every bit of information on the site is searchable.
Another InetActive component allows SPJ to input event or convention information and have it immediately available in the calendars section. Users have the ability to view more information on it, and even sign up for a convention or event with various information required.
