Overview

Each year, the Society of Professional Journalists, a long-time client, hosts the Sigma Delta Chi Awards, one of the most prestigious awards in the journalism trade. SPJ gets thousands of entries each year and has a global panel of esteemed judges review and critique the submissions. With thousands of entries, the logistics involved in receiving, packaging and distributing the entries via hard copy and courier has become not only time intensive, but also quite costly. SPJ came to us and asked us to create an web-based system that would allow journalists to enter their submissions, pay related fees and join SPJ. In addition, they needed an online system to allow judges to review, critique and rank the entries.

We completed the entire system in less than 90 days from start to finish. The end result is a completely online awards entry, payment and judging system that allows members and judges throughout to participate in the awards process.
