InetSolution, Inc. Connects Credit Union Sites With Microsoft Passport®
UTICA, MI, DECEMBER 11, 2001 – InetSolution, Inc., an advanced Internet technology development company specializing in technical solutions for credit unions, recently integrated its CU MemberProtect® security system with Microsoft’s® Passport single-login system. The new programming will extend MS Passport account holders’ single login capabilities to credit union’s online services. The technology is designed to simplify and accelerate online banking registration and login for credit union members who use Passport.
InetSolution’s CU MemberProtect® is a high-level security system designed to serve the special data protection requirements of credit union online services. The new MS Passport programming is an enhancement to CU MemberProtect®. Credit unions can now offer their members the added convenience of compatibility with the widely used MS Passport, along with the multi-level data protection provided by CU MemberProtect®. To date, very few credit unions have the ability to easily integrate with the Microsoft Passport system, but CU MemberProtect® will simplify this process.
Microsoft Passport was designed to simplify Internet use by allowing a single login service whereby consumers use the same user name and password at any participating web site. Without such a service, Internet users accumulate long lists of user names and passwords, as many Web sites require login before proceeding with online transactions.
Along with the convenience of single login, come the common concerns about security among consumers and the financial industry.
InetSolution’s President Jason Sherrill notes, “MemberProtect® is compliant with the National Credit Union Association’s recommendations for password security on credit union web sites. We built the product with the ability to require password restrictions, authenticate users without cookies, lock out users after a number of failed login attempts, and to restrict users as needed.” The new MS Passport compatibility does not compromise any of the product’s security measures.
